Dinosaur Extinction

There have been many cartoons about the extinction of the dinosaurs.
Why is this cartoon amusing, and who would it appeal to most ?

The cartoon is funny because the Dino's are trying to get onto Noah's Ark which means that they were killed by the flood as well as showing that dinosaurs aren't good in lines. This would be good for your older age groups.

I find this cartoon amusing because of the way that it intergrates the theme of religion into a theory about the extinction of the dinosaurs.

I think that this cartoon would appeal to people who understand the christian ideas and also those trying to understand the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Hey,
This cartoon appeals mostly to Catholics/Christians etc. and is amusing because the dinosaurs are lining up to get on the Ark to escape extinction. There are two of every kind of animal so the dinosaurs say that they don't like long lines and the do not go onto the Ark. So therefore they become extinct because God floods the land with 40 days and 40 nights of rain. There is a Bible reference at the bottom of the cartoon which shows that it's a religious joke.

yewwww pretty long comment lol it's as short as I can make it ;)

ROFL. It is amusing becuz it is a humourous way of explaining how the dinosaurs became extinct. Because we all know that dinosaurs didnt become extinct becuz they didnt want to line up for Noahs Ark.
I dont Really know who this cartoon would appeal to. It might appeal to people who enjoy talking dinosaur cartoons.

Mark. :)

A reason for many dinosaur extinction cartoons being in publication would be the interest so many people hold in dinosaurs. Out of all extinct animals this would have to be the most interesting and most captivating story.

It would most appeal to individuals who have interests in witty cartoons or dinosaurs. This cartoon would not appeal to a person who believes in the conventional Bible story of Noahs ark.

People can relate to the comment made by the dinosaur. Giving it a persona and to make it seem like its from an actual situation that any average person could have (or has done, or seen). Which leads to the beautiful irony that lead us on to thinking that this simple preference ended the whole entire species.

This cartoon contains a subtle humour as it refers to the dinosaurs as lacking the patience to wait in a line to continue their species, instead of the theory that they were wiped out by the global winter placed into effect by a rather large meteorite.
The audience that this picture would be most appreciated by would be the catholic middle aged person, who surfs the net casually and probably would have received this email from a forward from a friend at church. This is because comics like these are regularly circulated throughout emails to give someone a small moment of enjoyment throughout the melancholy of the endless repitition of a desk job. The simplicity of the site it was taken from (reverendfun.com) suggests a religious background to the picture. Upon visiting this site I also discovered a simple and slightly vacated website containing no forums or comment options which would detest the hardcore internet junkies although attract the casual internet surfer with its simple layout and easy to navigate webpages. Upon reading the quirky subtitles under these pictures i realized that they also required a deeper understanding of how society functions in general today, which is a quality mostly found within the middle aged people of today.

Is this what we're supposed to be doing for homework. Has anyone else posted an answer or am I the first. Anyway I think it's funny because it shows a sort-of conflict between evolution and creationism. There aren't any dinosaurs in the library.

ummm.
i dont know why people would find this amusing but,....
i think it means that something at the top of the food chain and the biggest predator can because of a environmental change can make even them casted to the back of the line of survival.

or i could be going in a completly wrong direction with this answer.

thsi is funny because it shows dinosaurs trying to get on noahs ark.it shows how the dinosaurs could have possibly become extincted and its from a religous point of view

The cartoon, displays many things. To me it is another way of showing , and reminding us that dinosaurs are ancient animals. Which have been known to be around for millions of years. Part of the process of extinction could of partly, been related to the huge flood God created to punish the bad. It also puts out the idea that they were impatient animals. eg Which is why they were always damaging the land and hurting other creatures.

ahaha i get it!

uhm this cartoon is amusing because its showing that the 2 dinosaurs dont want to get on the ark because of the line up, hence their extinction..reason?

im not exactly sure who this would appeal to.. teenagers, catholic people, my daddy found it funny lol

This cartoon shows evolution and extinction from a Creation sort of view. People who don't believe in evolution would fin this funny because it shows dinosaurs avoiding getting on the Ark, which would have saved them. Not possible, but whatever. There's probably some kind of mesage in the use of "lines", like they didn't believe in tracing lines of evolution to the dinosaurs or something. Probably not though.

hey

this cartoon isn't amusing to me. just thought id tell you before i told you why its was amusing... but i think its trying to show that the dinosaurs became extinct because there was such a big line up to get onto Noah's ark/boat and it didn't suit their behavior to wait in line for something when they are so use to just getting everything strait away.

this cartoon appeals to adults because they find boring cartoons funny (well at least my parents do!) :p

It’s amusing because it gives another perspective on why the dinosaurs are extinct. One that you don’t expect, one that is obviously not true. It’s saying that if the dinosaurs went on the ark then they might not be extinct because Noahs ark's animals are still alive. This cartoon might appeal to people who have a clever humour or a good sense of humour and obviously DINOSAUR FANS!

It would really appeal to anybody with both a sense of humour and a very basic knowledge of dinosaurs because it provides a funny alternative to the dominant theory of dinosaur extinction.

This cartoon is funny because it is showing that dinosaurs refused to evolve and instead died out.

I believe evolutionists would find this the most funny looking at how dinosaurs could not evolve rather than their choice not to evolve.

I can see why people would find the dinosaurs dieing during the great flood of noahs time but is it really funny to base this upon them being impatient all animals have instincts and follow them . so why should the dinosaurs have less patient attitudes towards surviving the flood? well people that would find this funny would be christian people who read the bible, or people who dont like dinosaurs. but those people sicken me to the very core ( by those people i mean the ones that dont like dinosaurs and find it humourus seeing them die. :(

Hey,
well from my point of view i see that this would appeal to a religious version of the extinction of the dinos from a scientific view. So they're trying to be religious and scientific as one. It's kind of like well there are the dinosaurs lining up to and they're passing down they're generation on Noah's ark...Get what i mean. Also it's amusing because, they try and make it as a joke and the fact that they're trying to combine religion ethnics with scientific explination, in terms of evolution Ok i tried =]

This is funny because it gives religions answer to dinosaurs in a comical way.

This would be appealing to people who dont believe in religion, as it shows a unrealistic way of dino extinction or as i like to call "dino-stinction".

it is amusing as it displays 2 dinosaurs wanting to jump on Noah's Arch and in tern be saved from a flood. this could appeal to younger generations, ( 5-11) though this would not be helpful as a learning tool as it does not show any supported or relavent information

The Dinosours would have died in the flood because of not getting on Noah's ark.

This cartoon would appeal to scientists or anyone familiar with theories on the extinction of dinosaurs. This is because there would be strong evidence supporting against the theory of dinosours dieing via flood. Alot of fossils have been found in tar pits and other parts of the world. However, there is still alot to be discovered on the ocean floor.

Scientists also need solid evidence to proove that religious related stories exist, and there isnt much evidence.

I didnt find the cartoon particularly amusing however it did offer a comical theory about how dinosaurs became extinct...

this catroon would appeal to people with a different sense of humour to me...

hey
i find this amusing because when the dinosaurs were alive they were predators, they were the strongest out there, and yet they're waiting in line? why dont they just push or scare their way through? I think this would appeal to people that are religious and young people like teenagers.

issy-thinks-jamie-smells said...

The cartoon is heeps funny because the dinosaurs dont want to wait out the time of their exsistance.

Unknown said...

I think that this would appeal to almost anyone? I laughed. The animals are really cute (:

Dinousaurs would have already been extinct, but its funny because this is saying that the dinosuars didnt want to get on the arc, hence there extinction but if they really wanted to get on then they could have just pushed their way through because they are alot bigger than all the other animals.
